Hi All,

I've really want a set of Black CSL's but haven't got £1000+ to spend on alloys.

Wheres the best place to get a set? From what I've read, 18's are a no no, i think i've been sinning even more and looking on ebay? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/19-BMW-M3-E92-3-SERIES-M3-ONLY-CSL-STYLE-MATT-GUNMETAL-GREY-Y-SPOKE-ALLOYS-/370612741158?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item564a3da426

any advice? (apologies if this has been asked before, couldn't find anything when searching...)

Hi Liam. BM Autosport do a range of good reps in various colours and with great service.

Genuine CSLs only come in 19" hence the purist view but when it comes to reps, I'd go 18". IMO 19s are too blingy/large for the car and tend to dominate the overall balanced look. More importantly theyll also give you a harsher ride. When I had the 3.0 roadster I bought 18" anthracite CSL reps from BMA and they where perfect; especially clad all round in Eagle F1 boots  (£1000 all in. Tyres from Camskill delivered to BMA who fitted, balanced and delivered to me; all within a week).

People will disagree with me on the wheel size issue of course but thats what a balanced view is all about right!

Liam , i bought my 18inch CSL from BMA last year, went for 18"s as the car drives better than with 19"s .Qaulity is fantastic German made.Speak with Mark he done a deal for me with Falcon 452 tyres.

sounds a slightly odd way of looking at it, but if you're coming from run flats the 19's won't seem bad at all regarding nthe ride...

i went for 19's and they're fine for the amount of driving i do, if you are covering large distances then the comfort and price difference between 19 and 18 tyres may well be worth the reduction.

Nothing to do with the RFT's i tryed my car with both 19" & 18" wheels with non Rft's ,car drives & handles far better with 18" wheels than with 19" wheels imo.May look better with 19" but i like to drive my car & not just stair at it ! :driving:

don't think you got my point there. i wasn't saying the 19" handled as well as the 18", i was saying if you're used to rf's and really want the 19", they will seem like an improvement over the rf's.

and it is a bit of a hyperbole to say it handles far better...it handles better yes, but marginally so. the ride of a zed is not ruined by 19" wheels.

I use 19" CSLs on the road, and my 18" OEM wheels on the track and occasionally the road. The ride with the 19" wheels is much harsher when compared with the 18"s, mainly due to dreadful pot holes. Also, the road noise from Vreds on CSLs is much more than that from any tyre I've had on my 18"s.
But....I love my CSLs and I'm going to keep them
