CSL Replicas

Good luck Playalistic. Word of advice. If you select the anthracite ones just check the wheel nut recesses as mine are not quite sprayed all the way in. With the wheel on and nuts attached it doesn't show but depends on how much of a perfectionist you are. Am sure if they have a stock of them you can take your pick of the bunch.

Well I'm at BM Autosport now. Decided on the silver ones given I have a black zed. Just waiting for fitting now. What a friendly and knowledgable bunch of blokes. Pics to come when I get home (Reading!)

Just got back. Lovely job. They fill the arches much better than the 108's they replaced. Pictures aren't great and also one of the M badges has already dropped off  but anyway, for your viewing pleasure...

They look great Playalistic! The right choice for your black Zed I think. Glad you too had a good experience with BMA. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Two questions though: Where did you get your cool yellow t-shirt and arent you a little young to drive?

Cheers! Don't pick on me just because I'm small

BMA were great. Very friendly and I'd totally recommend them without question. Very pleased all round. They mentioned a forum discount too which is nice

Brilliant! You've inspired me now too....inspired me to wash my car!
Looking really good Russ.

Crikey.. they look a lot better than I thought they would, especially with pre-f lights.

Maybe you should think about giving it a pollish tho ?

Dav the wheel nut,
I'm on the verge of spending some cash on some 19" CSL reps for my 2.2, 54 plate Z, lowered 30mm from standard.

Front 19x8 ET 34
Rear 19x8.5 ET37

Am I correct in thinking that the front and rear wheels will stick out 13mm more than my 18" 108's?

If I'm correct I think it will look fine.

Any comments?

Cheers.

Yes you are spot on. They will extend exactly the same as the ones in this thread owned by Russ and Inkey and look fine.
You will of course have lower profile tyres cos they are 19s. This is to keep the rolling radius the same as your 108s.
So you would fit 225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rears.

I would have no problem with buying replicas. The only issue with CSL replicas (particularly 18") is that despite having staggered widths, they don't have the same concave 'deep dish' rears which look so good on the originals..

As mentioned I got mine off eBay for £300 delivered new 18" and 9" wide but you just don't get the dish look and 19" would fit if you drop the tyre profile

You could always buy BMW quality wheels, which have made appearances on Watchdog for splitting and cracking.
Or BMW OEM springs, OR BMW OEM wishbones...... need I go on?
Just because they are genuine parts doesn't mean they are always the best quality. I have now got Eibach springs to replace the BMW sh*te, So much better and probably 1/4 of the price,,

You don't 'get what you pay for' all of the time..

Dave the wheel nut,

Thanks for the confirmation.

I've got no excuses left!

I'm going to have to spend some cash now.....

Will post pics once fitted. :D

Cheers.
