CSL Owners - ASSEMBLE!!

Guys,

what are the best size tyres for OEM CSLs to compliment our ///M's?

I'm looking at a set with 245/35/19 and 265/30/19. I've seen people run 235/265 and 245/275. Would there be any issues, handling ride etc, of running 245/265?

Thanks y'all.

I'm on 265/30 R and 235/35 F

No issues with ride and comfort. Tramlines a little more than the 108s on my 3.0i but is more comfortable

I have the same as above. Think I might get slight rub on full lock, will check when I clean the arches out. Thats with std suspension.

I was on 245/275 set up on my old ones but bought 235/265 for the new ones, I ran 245 fronts with 12mm hub centric spacers and they were fine, under full lock they'd catch a little, so don't do full lock !

you got some then ? :D

Debating it.

They're £1200, but with "good tread" on the Michelin Cup Pilot Sport tyres (which I don't know much about and haven't researched yet and seem to be odd sizes), however one of the rears has had a puncture repaired, so I'm a bit sceptical.

The owner also says they need a refurb.

Effectively if a refurb is ~£400 and I'll need to get new tyres (not sure on running with a repair) it'll take me up to the cost of a new set anyway, so I'm hesitating in pulling the trigger. If they didnt need a refurb or new tyres I'd have gone for it by now.

They are also up north, and the guy won't courier so would need £70 in petrol to run the Astra up to collect them.

A lot of skepticism from me as you can tell.

Starting with £1,200 plus refurb, plus tyres, plus £70 quid fuel = too much.

I nearly got a set that needed a refurb for £1,100. They had cup sport tyres on them but only 3mm which was too low IMO. However I believe sup sport tyres only have around 5mm from new.

Lepsons refurb price would be £312 all in if no tyres fitted. I paid £240 for mine in Crawley with tyres fitted.

It's the refurb bit that could be worrying, dependant how bad,my old ones had some rash and I repaired them myself and resprayed, quite easy really and enjoyed the process, on another note I sold that set with very good Goodyear Aysm 2's for £1200, if they're not too bad they could be worth a punt, I'm up't North so could collect to help out with the carriage costs by meeting up at some point?

What tyres you running now Darren? How did you find the Goodyears?

I like the goodyears tbh, not a problem for my driving, I've put PS2's ( or 3's maybe? Can't remember, it's been a few months since I've seen them ) on the new ones but I've not put them on the car yet, will do in spring, but bought those on various tyre reviews tbh Adam

i used to run the tyre sizes the CSL actually ran..... 235/265.... if its good enough for the csl its defo good enough for the z4m..... never regretted that decision once and let me tell you driven hard i managed to get those conservative sizes to rub very very very slightly on the fender liner on a very rare occasion.

There's no detailed photos of the damage, I'd like to get some photos from the seller. It's the repaired tyre that's worrying me and only being cups they'll need replacing soon.

I'd want to see them rotate to make sure there are no buckles etc..... you might not spot with the wheel being stationary, as I've recently found out :(

TBH I think any of these used will have some damage in the form of flat spots or buckling. I had this sorted when mine were refurbed.

With the state of our roads, wheel widths and low profiles it's inevitable.
