Hi Does anyone know which paint i need for my CSL reps.
Is it DEKORSILBER METALLIC
Ref. A55, code WA55.
I would like DIY at the recent kerbing I had.
This is the colour of my alloys, so which correct paint code and where from please, any advice on the clear coat?
Cheers,

It does seem as if the proper, sprayed base and top coat combo is required to get a match. I found a couple of generic “bright” silvers that worked better than A55 but still aren’t great.

I recently sprayed my 326 wheels using cans mixed at a local auto parts shop using the A55 decor silver paint code and the colour match was nowhere near, although I am very happy with the finished colour, it’s a little darker more of a gun metal

Check my post in the thread that MrPT posted.

However, also note that the alloys you posted look like reps. Assuming they’re yours, you might be better off buying a new wheel(s) from the likes of CM Wheels than refurbing a kerbed rep.

Bit drastic surely?

How? Lepsons charge £80 (not incl VAT) to refurb one wheel. You can buy a new rep from the likes of CM for £95.

I think the OP is looking at having a go himself with a Rattle can to keep the costs down.

True, Morelli do Upol 500ml Alloy Silver ( very close to BMW spec) with an excellent nozzle for £3.70 and clear coat £3.89. A bit of Metal filler and etch primer 'bobs your uncle' job done, no need to spend anymore. Besides I am jobless at the mo.

These are rep wheels so very unlikely to be the same colour as oem wheels.

Thanks for the observation.
To me it dont matter, as long as its a close match it will suffice. I mean no on actually stoop down to scrutinise closely, one has to really go out of the way to see whether the colour matches. Who does that anyway.

Rgds,
P.s my brother has used this product before and says the match is really good.

You’ll probably laugh at this but I just use a grinding bit on a dremmel to smooth the affected area and touch up with silver smoothrite (hammerite brand) with a fine detailing brush. It’s a close match on my alloys and has the advantage of needing no primer or topcoat. Being enamel based, it’s also super tough.

My point was though that bmw oem paint colour could be way off.

If you paint both wheels on one side though then nobody would ever know though
