CSC/mirrorless Cameras

Has anybody on here bought a CSC camera since they're introduction? We were looking for a decent compact for Mrs Eds, something a bit lighter and pocket-size than the DSLR. Being more and more tempted to try out a CSC for her though. The Lumix ones look really good, some of the others I've read mixed reviews for. The Pentax one I looked at had the sensor from their compacts so wouldn't really appeal, and then there's some other brands where people have said they don't feel comfy to hold or use because the buttons etc just feel wrong. And as it stands, the EOS M is a bit more than I'm willing to pay!

Anybody bought one of them or have any experiences of playing with them?

They are better than people (including me) think(or thought :lol . And the 5n is really small so can be a pocket camera as well!

Going to go have a play with some of the CSC's this weekend hopefully, get a chance to hold them and see how the size stacks up. No point buying something of near - compact size if it still won't fit in a pocket/small bag, or if has a body the size of a phone with the lens the size of a waste paper basket.

Ill back you up on that I've had mind just under a year....its better than my EOS

By now the Nex 7 is probably discounted....and that thing can rival EOS 7D's etc......

I though about the 7 but the reason I went for the 5n was the improved iOS performance for flash free photos over the 7. The resolution on the 7 is higher though so with work you can edit the raw and get a similar result though.

More controls and view finder on the 7 though but then it is bigger, personally I just preferred the 5n package

Can't go wrong with either though I'd say!!!!

The nex 6 is due soon, and a new version of the 5.

I plan on pickin one up later this year, maybe even a 7, which I've been using for work in some awkward situations and it performs very well.
I would look at the other brands but it's rude to ignore staff discount
