Hi everyone. I have a late 2007 BMW Z4 E85 and am wanting to retrofit cruise control. Sourcing the stalk wasn't an issue however I can't source the wiring loom. The ebay sellers I've tried say their kits won't fit my model E85, I assume their kits fit the pre face lift E85. BMW told me today they don't supply the wiring. Has anyone found a solution for getting suitable wiring for these later 2007 models? Thanks all

Looks like he hasn’t be online for a month so I’ve just emailed him a heads up for you.

Hi, just joined as I was searching for "2007 E85 Z4 cruise retro fit" and landed here.

Just test drove a 2.5 today which brought back memories of my two E46 convertibles (but the car was in awful condition) so I'm looking for another 2.5 or 3.0. I've spotted one without cruise, hence coming here.

Am I correct in saying, for a 2007 E85, I need the stalk from BMW and the loom from @srhutch here?

I did also drive an E89 a while back, the 2.0 engine, but there's something about the E85 which appeals more.

Thanks for any help. This will be my 12th BMW over 40 years.

Welcome to the forum.

IMHO a straight 6 is one of the unique features of the Z4.

BMW are charging a lot for the stalk these days so as a cheaper alternative you could consider this optio.

Thanks @Mr Tidy - looks like it's push away to increase speed, pull to reduce, the same as an Audi or Porsche stalk. That's what I prefer.

I've had a look at the sales thread, just hope @Usel keeps making them!

RIght, now I can go back over all the E85's I've rejected due to having no stalk. I'm quite fussy about other spec too, it's a needle in a haystack job!

The 2.5 I drove today had differing paint all over, A/C not working, damaged front spoiler, rear boot lip didn't line up with wings, bonnet too, tyres were 14 years old! Lovely engine though, even at 130k miles. Shame. I walked away.

Given their age now it can be a challenge finding the right one, especially if you want specific options like Xenons, M-Sport seats, etc.

But at least the straight 6 engines are pretty bulletproof!
