Cruising RPM with N52

For those who have a 3.0i or 3.0si with the N52, what is your rpm when you are going around 110 kph?
I manual swapped my 2007 3.0si with the transmission from a 3.0i and I have a 3.64 rear diff. It is close to 3000 rpm when going around 110 kph and wanted to see if that was similar to what others have experienced in the 3.0i. Thanks

I asked the same question a while back as I thought mine (similar numbers to yours) felt high

Consensus was that it was ok

I agreed too.

Maybe they are geared that way to be close to peak torque at 2,750rpm at that speed? With a red-line at 7,000 rpm it isn't like you're going to run out of revs.

Out of curiosity I drove to a foreign country[1] today so that I could use the kph bit of the speedo.

At 110kph my 2.5si was doing 2600 rpm. A 3.0si ought to be lower until I realised that when the OP says he manual swapped it, he meant he's kept the shorter auto diff. From RealOEM for mine it's 3.38 manual and 3.73 autobox. Good for acceleration but bad for economy!

That sounds about right Mikey, but yours is a 5 speed with the M54 engine not a 6 speed N52.

My 5 speed 325ti with an M54 was similar.

I remembered this thread on the motorway on Sunday!

It was a hair over 2800rpm at 70mph GPS (~73mph indicated), a hair under at 70mph indicated. Manual 6 speed 3.0si.
