Cruise control

I have heard that it is possible to retro fit cruise control in my 58 Z4 2lt.
If so who knows how to proceed

I have just done this. I believe post Oct 03 cars have the post to fit the stalk but not the plug to fit on the CC stalk. I think there is a bit of wiring involved, but that is it.
Someone will be along to confirm/deny.

I got mine from Sopers. It was £99 delivered including the extra loom.

My independent bmw specialist charged me £60 to fit.

Well worth the money.

So if you have just done it. How or who did it

Iv recently also done this to my 07 2.0ltr.
Cost about £100 for the BMW stalk and wiring loom.

First parts easy, removing the under cowl around the steering wheel, cutting a hole (there are already guides in the plastic), fitting the stalk and connecting 3 or 4 wires behind where your light switch is.
The hard part is the final wire, and its not hard to do, it just goes in different positions depending on the engine model you have (yours will be the same as mine). You have to run 1 long wire from behind the steering wheel, through to behind the glove box, and through a hole in the engine bay bulk head into the cars electrical box (the white plastic box in the engine bay with the black plastic lid) then attach it to a pin-connector.

I downloaded a copy of the BMW instructions, and there RUBBISH as its vague on which pin to connect too! luckily other 2.0ltr Z4 owners on here that had done the mod helped me out, but that last wire was still a massive head ache.
Good luck, let me know if u go ahead?

I did some research in the WDS about where the cruise connects to the DME for various Z4 engines:

For N46 2 litre, use pin 4 of X60002 24 pin connector, the existing wire, if there, is white/blue.
