So having got a quote off the dealership two weeks ago to get this fitted I rung up today to double check what it would cost, they are now telling me there is no kit available to retrofit cruise control to my 08 2.0i.

Anyone have any knowledge surrounding this? I would have thought it would be possible with the wiring loom fitted etc. but after ringing both my local dealerships they are both of the opinion that no kit is available for my chassis number.
 
That's pants.

Try phoning up Jamie in the parts dept at Sopers, 01522 690000 & ask if he can confirm if information is correct.
 
It is easy on pre-facelift non-M's. Facelift models are missing a wiring loom that is no longer installed standard. I have seen the threads but still am considering through a dealership for the authenticity if I come to sell Z eventually.
 
Stalk and loom were certainly available a few months back when I did mine. It's a simple job if you have fairly basic abilities, and doing it yourself is no less authentic as getting the dealer to do it, but much cheaper.

No reason to get a dealership to install. They wont install any different or better than an Indi or DIY.
 
Waiting for Jamie to call me back, he was on the phone when I rang, however its been a hour or so, shall ring again shortly.

DR-Z I'm aware it is and was going to get my step-dad who is a trained mechanic to assist but he didn't fancy doing it without access to wiring diagrams as he didn't recognise the colour coding BMW use on their wires.

Edit: Just seen hutch's reply I am aware but would just like the paperwork showing BMW installed it. May be a silly mindset but peace of mind for myself.
 
Jamie confirmed it can be done and gave me the part number so I can give it to my local and get a quote, why my own dealerships couldn't manage to do this for me I don't know..
