Cruise control

Hi just enquiring did anyone fit cruise control on a z4 e85 2.0 n46 pre face-lift

I fitted it in my face lift and had a little extra wiring to do. I do believe the pre facelift is plug and play because the wiring harness was fitted to accommodate everything.

No it was quite straightforward. I had to run a wire from the rear of the light switch to the DME. All instructions were provided as it was an official retrofit.

You need the cruise control arm. There is a cut out marked on the inside of the lower trim piece.

If it’s pre facelift then you just need the control arm as the wiring is there.

Only the early cars (pre Oct 04, I think) had the full loom in place. All facelift cars will need wiring. It relatively simple and you don’t have to splice into any existing wires. I think @srhutch is still making up cruise control looms at a very reasonable price.

The lever itself had become stupidly expensive now. I think I paid about £150 brand new. I rarely use mine to be honest.

I was coming on to ask about CC fitment, as the switches seem ridiculously expensive for what they are.

From what I can see the stalk is unique to the E85/86 so it has scuppered the plan to do a retrofit over winter.
