Cruise Control - taking out?

Morning all...

Well a slightly different issue for me with the cruise control.

Just a quick recap:

I went to retro fit this feature, the guides etc say it should just plug in for my month/year, but it seems it wasn't the case and I had to order the extra loom.

Now, me being me (i.e. an idiot) I had already cut the space for it, so thought I'll just clip the stalk in place until I was ready to wire it up...

Now, I can't the bloddy stalk out!!!!  :headbang:

So, I'm guessing there is a bit to push in, or pull one way or another.... does anyone know who to remove the cruise control stalk!?!?!?!?!?!

Hmmm. Can't remember where the clips are from when I did it. Does the stalk not just come off with the lower cowl when you remove it ? Should then be able to see where the clips are ?

nope... I tried that... the stalk clips into the stearing wheel bit, not the actual cowl...

so I can easily remove the cowl, but all stalks stay in place, and I can't see the clips to push/pull/hit/swear at to remove the stalk!

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Bugger - it must be up the top then. How about taking the top cowling off ? Otherwise you best stretch off and limber up in prep for some gymnastic upside down footwell tinkering :D

Sorry mr c - even had a wee google to see if I could find a useful image, no joy :(

I vaguely recall that the clip faces you if you sit in the driver's seat. It is black plastic, shaped like a "U" on its side and you pull up the end of it nearest the stalk in order to remove the stalk itself.

Might have made that up... let me know. :D

This might help:

Note that even though the steering wheel is shown removed, you do not need to do that.
