Thanks to a couple of members from here I have managed to retro fit cruise control. So a quick recognition to those that helped.

Thanks to srhutch for never getting round to fitting it then selling it on!

Thanks also to jamiecarpenter who's guide saved me a great deal of time. Start to finish it took a little over 90 mins!

Cool, glad it all works, mind you it should as it was all new.

I'd have fitted it one day, probably never use it anyway, just seemed a low cost mod that was silly not to do.

Guiseley might need your help as he PM'd me today about fitting and needed confirmation on the connection under the bonnet.

It's great, but I'm in complete agreement that with the relatively low cost it would be silly not to have done it!

is this really an easy fit? and what is the cost? I plan to do a lot of motorway journeys in a z and makes it easier and cost effective on the boring bits

I used to think I would never need/use cruise conrol but after nearly 3 years I couldnt be without it! Keeps you safe from getting done in a 30 and extremely useful on motorway!

Got to be the quickest mod i have ever done, not done the stubby yet! I have a 2003 2.5, all the wiring was in place, once i had removed the bottom cover under the steering wheel, cut out the appropriate bit, it took seconds to fit the stalk. Stalk came from Quarry Motors for the princely sum of £30! As above it keeps my right foot from becoming heavy on motorways!

Great cheap mod!

I bought a stalk and fitted it whilst I was looking around the 2003 I put a deposit on. Took me 90 seconds, and I kid you not... Modified the steering cowl at later date tho

I ruddy love cruise and use it all the bloddy time. Its the only option I would actually pay for. £40 in this case! Bonus!!

well, well, that is good news. I have been sort of discounting cars without cruise control as I thought it would be a difficult mod. I have a 330d msport at the moment and use cruise a lot on journeys and would miss it. But, seeing how cheap and easy it is to fit, I can not discount zeds without it already fitted

Yeah, pre Oct 2004 its a case of the steering cowling off, snap it in place and plug it in. After that date there is an extra wiring loom, but its still a pretty easy mod by all accounts

Jonnymito, you have PM coming :sos: everthing going well so far (and I'm pretty useless but patient) but just need a final bit of help to get me finished.

p.s. Your LINKY seems a bit off - took me to Jamie's profile.
