Crikey, this is a cheap ///M !

And the red one on at appears to have moved dealers as is now on eBay with a different garage.

Yup, and gained a grand in price

Iv kept my eye on this car, and seriously I don't understand why it's not gone. It's the right price and if it was more local I'd look at it. Anyone made any enquiries on it yet, does it have poor history?

I rang up on Friday hoping to see it as its local to my girlfriends place and going to try and have a look later on in the week. If history is good then surely it's well priced? I am quite set on an imola one but as its not too far got to be worth a look and consideration.

It's a bargain if everything checks out. The only question is at that price, have people seen it and walked away? I your good mechanically then you should have no worries.
I would probably lean to have it professionally inspected simply because it's priced to sell and hasn't sold.
If it was within 100 miles I'd probably view it.

Morning guys, I went to see this car on Sunday and I can't decide about it!
The owner was really nice and genuine and the car is very nice, but I wouldn't say immaculate. It could do with a good detail, one wheel has minor kurbing the gear knob appeared quite worn and a couple of scratch marks on the bonnet from bird lime. Also one tyre is close to worn out.

Service history is up to date and good but its 50 miles off an inspection 2! Tax runs out at the end of sept. it's not a bad price but all in I don't think it's a cheap M. I really liked the red leather but feel I should wait for an imola one as that's what I am after!

Baring in mind that it does need a few bits,a detail and a service i still think its cheap..

The more you look at the more you will realise that truly immaculate cars are few and far between..

+1 , none of the above is catastrophic to sort out and if the tyres a conti M3s you will probably want to change them out anyway , if the rest of the service book is straight and you can negotiate a little more off I think this is a good find . The gearknob is easily sorted with a ZHP or original part from Sopers.

I dont think any 7 year old car is 100 % immaculate , its bound to have picked up a stone chip here and there .

its worth remembering that a sub 40k Imola with straight service history, low owners and through inspection 2 is going to command much stronger money than this .

Personally, I'd leave it.

The advert said it was 'immaculate', but clearly it wasn't. Some age-related marks you can understand, but even a lightly curbed wheel isn't what I'd class as 'immaculate'.

It strikes me that the owner may have run the car on a budget, too. He's selling it when it needs an Inspection 2 which, let's face it, is a big expense for the new owner.

As you've said, you want an Imola Red one, so I'd wait it out. There's no point getting a car you're not happy with.

Think you hit the nail on the head there - the term "immaculate" is very different between different people. Some may say you can use this to your advantage if the car is needing some easy remedial work.

TBH I instantly dismiss the term

definition - free from flaws or mistakes; perfect:

I doubt any car that has seen a road qualifies for that

I rushed up to a well known BMW dealer in Glasgow to look at an immaculate Z4MR and it had had more hits than the beatles!!!!.
Told the salesman that I could recommend a good optician's for him to get an eye test :) .
