Creaking/thumping or knocking noise from rear from standstil

Hi,
My car has devloped a kind of knocking noise when driving slowy from what i can currently describe as an uneven surface (rear wheels lower than front wheels and maybe one rear wheel lower than the other)). I first noticed it a few days ago when leaving a multistory carpark which was facing up hill. I stopped briefly on the exit of the carpark to check for other cars and when i pulled away on the slope i hear a knocking noise from the rear - a bit like "donk....donk donk donk donk' as I let the clutch out - a bit like a creak but more of a knock.

Tonight I also hear it after i pulled away with the reaer wheels in a kind of larged gutter (large semi circle that drains rain water)

Any idea? never heard this before and pulled away from gutter many times before with no noise.

Car has been checked over and the only thing they found was a dodgy gear selector linkage part which was causing a "ticking". New part has been ordered to be fitted next week, will see if this fixes the knocking noise. I`ve only heard the noise a few times anyway so am not goiing to worry if the occassional other noise is still there, but at least the rear springs are okay which was what I thought might of been the problem.
