Creaking plastics... grrrrr

Loving driving the car topless in the few days of sun we have had lately but one thing that is driving me crazy is the creaking / cracking of the hard plastic trim around the windscreen. It seems to be temperature related as well as any kind of lump / bump / pothole in the road.

Has anybody ever removed this trim and done anything about it?

It sounds silly but it could be your sun visors? Mine need to be played with every now and then, so they stop creaking!

Try spraying some silicone spray around the areas where the plastic trim contacts other panels, a strategically placed cloth should absorb any overspray. I had some success using this method on my first (very creaky) e89

+1 what Smartbear said  I've used GT85 Spray with Teflon on any creaky interior trim for years and it always works great. I sprayed my windscreen surround trim 3 years ago and it hasn't creaked since :D

Thanks guys - it's already been plastered in GT85 many times! Lasts about a week or so and then the creaking returns. I just found a post here about removing the A pillar trim which doesn't sound too hard so might give it a go over Easter.... https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90148

I have a theory to not even bothering to fix the creak bacause as soon as you do another one appears. I just leave it and the creaks move around.
