Creaking like an old barn door from front o/s...

Low pitch creaking noise, first noticed it when turning the steering wheel so I took it to my local indy, couldn't locate the noise but greased up the cj joints on the steering rack. Didn't notice any improvement as wasn't happening all the time.
Now it creaks it all of the time, not only when turning the steering wheel but over any bumps & imperfections in the road... Indy can't look until next Tuesday. So wondered if anyone else had same issue?

Check your strut brace nuts !

my slk did this when the spring had broke the broken end was rubbing on the spring seat worth jacking it up and a quick look
