Creaking from plastic A Pillar

Bought the car Saturday. Was fine all day Sat and most of today.

On the way home tonight the right hand side of the dash is creaking badly against the plastic trim around the A Pillar.

Can anyone think of an easy fix for this?

The TT did the same but I managed to fix that with stuffing it with some newspaper.

German engineering is wonderful isn't it?

Mines full of noises. Aswell as the A pillar i also have intermittent rattles from the vents on each side of the dash and the passenger roll hoop creaks the loudest of the lot!

Mine did this after i removed mine to hardwire my road angel.... it was rubbing slightly agasint the dash.

I removed it again and added a piece of felt at the bottom of the a pillar between it and the dash (out of sight) and it stopped.

An alternative (as my friend was told when he reported creaking suspension on his focus) is put the music up :driving:

I have the same issue, but it doesn't bother me! i had a thought to put some kind of sealant between two surfaces, like Sikaflex for instance.

I had this problem, with both the A pillars. Fixed it by buying a role of thin velcro strips, cutting the soft part into very thin slivers then sticking all along the length of the trim, on both sides where it meets the windcreen and also where it meets the dash board. Squeaks are gone. I also had a low speed rattle traced to a missing bump stop on the bonnet. Sounded like it was inside the dash somewhere but after having a really good look around under the bonnet pushing and pulling the strut braces etc, I saw I was missing a little piece of rubber on one side.

No noises from dash area, had a rattle from glove box a couple of felt pads sorted that , iv been trying to track down an annoying creak from high up behind the passenger seat , I thought it might have been the headrest , now ill investigate the roll hoop ,,,,,,

my A pillar also creaks from time to time although only really on cobbles in Edinburgh. My passenger roll hoop placcy cover makes a hell of a noise when the roof's down. I just cant be arsed fixing it!

Found about 3 more bloody creaks now. lol

One really annoying one from the door to the CD changer compartment. My mission for the weekend is to fix them.

The creaking in that area is normal, but my dealer has fixed it when they replaced my window... Before that it used the same procedure as you did.

I have loud rattle to the right of the steering wheel (uk), seems like it's from inside the dash, just not sure.

It sounds like a lose screw/washer.. I have take the vent out held all sorts of parts and just can not find what is making the noise. I have other rattles too but I can live with them.

This one is so loud I can hear it with the top down and music on!!!

It's not behind the passenger seat. it's the actual passenger seat. :)
The seats are leather in the front and fabric on the back. There is a seem where the two (leather + fabric meet) and over time it becomes loose causing a rattling/squeaking when going over bumps. The sound will be gone if someone is sitting in the passenger seat though. A little glue and a clamp to hold the seams together will fix it. Alternately a small cut of a sponge between them will stop the rattling, but is not the most elegant solution of course.
