My Msport driver's seat developed an annoying squeak/creak a couple of years ago. I took the plastic cover off the side of the backrest and sprayed GT85 PTFE spray into it and that fixed it - no sound since. I've used this stuff to fix several trim squeaks in my car, I've also sprayed it onto the roll-over hoops so that it stops the roof catching on them as it folds down. It doesn't seem to mark any trim, so no risk of harm if you try this and it only costs about £2 a can, so not much lost even if it fails to silence the seat.

Many thanks for the picture. I was going to be taking the covers off anyway as I believe that is what is covering the bolts which secure the backrest to the base. Will be also giving it a spray as well for ggod measure.

Where the top of the circle above bisects the leather (and a bit above & below) is the edge that works slightly free on mine and needs pushed back in every once in a while.

Took the driver’s seat out this morning whilst the weather was good which was easier than I had thought. I then removed the plastic covers off each side of the backrest to reveal the torque bolts that secure the brackets from the base to the backrest.
The bolts on each side of mine required retightening, this resolved the excess forward and backward movement I had been experiencing. Also took the opportunity to check and torque up any other bolts I came across on the seat base.
I also checked as recommended by Bing, the leather bits where it hooks round the seat frame on the back side of the lower bolster, luckily mine looked okay.
I also bought a tin of GT85 PTFE spray as recommended by Edderby and decided to spray the leather bits where it hooks round the seat frame on the backside of the bolster. I also gave a light spray where the torque bolts that secure the brackets from the base to the backrest as recommended by Edderby.
Reassembled and took the zed for a run and no more creaking seat.
Hopefully that will be the seat silenced for a year or so.
Total time taken was 1 hour as this was my first time in removing the seat, no doubt if it ever requires attention again then it will be slightly quicker now I know what I am doing!

Nice one, glad you got yours sorted
It would seem to me that the torque bolts on the seat base work loose over time, probably depends on how the driver exits the zed, so will be interesting to see how long the fix lasts. For now at least I am enjoying a creak free ride

I think that a squirt of PTFE on the leather clip bits and other moving joints in the seat base also helps.
