Crazy story - Stolen Keys to Z4MC

Rat with a leather fetish?

Seriously though, sorry OP but I'm with the others. I do believe no insurance company would have paid out for you because you didn't take "reasonable precautions" or whatever their terminology is.

That said at one point in the household we had three sets of BMW keys which all looked identical, I knew which car they were for based on how worn each key was!

Stupid beyond belief, but said by many. Secure combine or not a pro would have taken your car. Simple as showing security a job sheet to collect your car, etc.

You're victim of someone who doesn't like you or the car and just played a prank on you.

Live and learn..

Erm fair point mate, but why is it a stupid thing to post up? And I'm not after sympathy! Have you even read the post? It was a fox!

:poke: :tumbleweed:

tbh no... i got to a certain point and stopped reading (like a few people have done in this thread) . i should have kept reading before commenting... still the principle behind my post still stands

I bet you're really glad you posted a light hearted story so you could be called stupid half a dozen times
It must be hard work to be perfect all the time.
I enjoyed it and accept the story for what it was meant to be.
Thanks for posting.

Yeah you're right.
I'm a bit of a dinosaur, don't do things like facebook or twatter and this reminds me why :)

It's so everyone can have a laugh at my expense.

Who said I would claim on the insurance?

I certainly wouldn't risk a fraudulent insurance claim for £15k. I'm actually a decent honest person and yes could afford to buy another one on my own thanks.

I think whats MORE interesting is the replies! Some people should chillout a bit!

I knew straight away it was a fox and ruined the story for myself

They're sneaky buggers! We have them in our car park, along with a few cats and even a goose  bare in mind this car park is about half a mile inside a private compound.

It appears Fantastic Mr Fox has diversified! And clearly has good taste in cars too :P

ITAG, this is just the sort of thing I would do lol, on hindsight its a silly place to leave the key but I have done myself

Well as they say, money can't buy you sense :D :poke:

Jesus give the guy a break, and stop taking things so seriously! OP was honest and brave enough to post this. Nothing was stolen, no one was killed or badly hurt. Just read the story for what it is and look on the funny side of it. The sense of humour in people is already being eroded away with all the pc nonesense flying about this country as it is! Sure it was a risky and touch irresponsible to leave the key in such a place. But after reading his post, andI seeing the picture of the key and fob partly nibbled away I instantly thought either a fox or mouse/rat was under the car and cheekily took it away to feed on 8) And luckily that seems all it was for the key to disappear.
