Crank Sensor - go low or go high?

After multiple lights on the dash after a recent drive the code reader will clear most but the crank sensor code is always present...taking 10 seconds to start also.
Is it easier/quicker to change from underneath? (e86 Si) or is removing the intake manifold the way to go?

Firstly a Thank you to enuff_zed for suggesting Scanner 1.4 for coding and diagnostics for the e86. Doesn't list the e86 but worked a treat and got me out of this pickle...
I had traction control error. .engine light..(the dreaded) EPS and a few others .. didn't make sense and it still doesn't.. after 10 seconds of cranking they would all appear.. the crank sensor couldn't be reset

After seeing videos on stripping out the top of the engine to get to the crank sensor a couple suggested it can be done from underneath in a quarter of the time.. that's for me!

Access could only be achieved by unbolting the lower wishbone lollipop bush and pushing the wishbone to one side
not having a Torx socket a standard 5/16 worked perfectly. pushed onto the bolt and held it in the socket.
and an inspection mirror is a must..
all done on axle stands.. front left and front right. Front left wheel removed.

Started up first time, after 2 seconds and not a single dash warning light... hope it helps
