Cracking dashboard Grommit!

I would get a cracking noise early in a journey. Thought it was the cheapy plastic trim around windshield expanding with the demister heat rising. Also iDrive rattle.
Sprayed silicon bumper spray around every joint and seam I could find and all quiet last 12 months.

Not much help but I've also noticed this on mine since it started getting colder.

At first I thought it was something hitting the windscreen.

Exactly my experience. Sounds like a piece of grit hitting windshield.
