Cracked windscreen!

How old is the car? From my understanding with the current zed they will need to provide manufacturer screen.

If the screen has any heads up display or sign reading camera, they fit a pukka BMW screen as it has to be properly calibrated and they don't have the equipment. They have to send it to a main dealer who will not touch a non BMW screen of course.

That was Auto Windscreens late 2017 - The screen was fitted to my 335 (on the drive) without a hiccup and I was totally happy with the result and especially so after reading some of the horror stories on here. Six years down the line, I'm still happy!

Ive Just had a quick scan of that post!

I watched the fitter do the 335 and he put a continuous profile bead of adhesive/sealant around the mounting flange. The screen was seated in one single “plonk “

Apparently the fitter came top in a competition of windscreen fitters!

I was also in the worried about leaks camp - but it seems I’ve either been lucky or it’s been done by a good fitter

I had a cracked screen after 2 months from new. Autoglass replaced it but totally screwed up the forward facing camera, it had to go back to BMW to get sorted.

If you have HUD make sure it’s a BMW screen.

Had a crack run run across top of mine as result of stop chip. Had to take the car to Auto Windscreens depot in Northampton where they fitted a genuine BMW screen and did all the calibrations for HUD and sensors. They will only do vehicles which require calibrations at the depots. Well pleased with the service I got and all seems well to date.
