Rob, I thought about reusing my original ones but instead I bought these new genuine BMW ones for my new wheels and they worked straight away without me having to do anything other than initialise TMPS on iDrive

Price was good and the guy was great to deal with and I had a query on a Sunday and he was back to me within 10 minutes

Useful, thanks Andy. I originally saw £100 per wheel which would have been too much. I'm also contemplating having two sets of wheels, and refurbing the old ones (I still like the look of them), and deciding which replacement ones to go for takes some time!
Rob
I find with having two sets of wheels one set just sits there doing nothing but take up space. Well, it did for me with a previous car.

You need to transfer or purchase new tpms units to the wheels you are buying (if your car actually uses them) :?
Rob
Yes I was interested how successful people had been in transferring them..as this could be significant amount on top of the wheels..

Im sure you can purchase a kit to reuse the old sensors in new wheels, I think it is basically new seals for the valves.

That was actually my query with my new ones, there were no crush washers or seals with them and he said the genuine BMW ones didn’t have any.

On that basis I’d presume if you were going to reuse existing ones it’d just be a case of removing from old wheels then reinstalling as is.

HI,
I've just ditched my runflats for PS4s and as car is just over 5 years old decided to fit new TMPS sensors. The sensors are sealed units and my research indicated that batteries last between 5/8 years. Seemed silly not to accept the additional cost now as knowing my luck, a battery would die a week after changing tyres
Like Andy I purchased original BMW replacements through Ebay for just under £120 the set. As it happens my usual garage had trouble removing two of the old ones and had to resort to cutting stems off them :o
