Cracked Exhaust Manifold

After numerous problems with the car the garage I bought it off sent it to the main dealer today who have diagnosed a cracked Exhaust Manifold, cost to replace is circa £1500, I have spoken to the garage and they have said they will have it welded instead of paying for a replacement, is this the right thing to do?

What were the symptoms ??

Main symptoms were emission light which developed to main engine light coming on then the car went into limp mode....

Tbh if it were me(and mine has been replaced) i would want a replacement.

Well I would prefer that but the garage are refusing to have a replacement fitted.
