Cracked exhaust manifold 2.0 N46

Hi,
Anyone got their exhaust manifold welded up in West Berks area that did a good job? Mines blowing and the local garage said it can be done, however they admitted that they had never done one before, so would be good to get some advice, before I give them the go ahead.
Can this be done by any competent mechanic or its a specialist job?
Thanks

There isn’t a 2.0 N52 engine :?

I know the 4 pot 2.0 engines have issues with cracked manifolds though.

Just a FYI I have a 2.0 manifold, N46 engine in the garage if you don’t want to go down
The welding rout

Post a picture of the cracked section if you can

If it is mild steel or stainless I can TIG weld it for you

There is a but. I live and work in the Manchester area and my family home is in Cleethorpes and that is where my welding set is until work buy me one which could be a few weeks away.

Paul.

I stand corrected! It’s the N46 2.0 LCi motor.
Thanks for all the comments and offers.
I’ll get a quote from the local garage and then see what route to take.

I had mine done in Leicester. Did a brilliant job, mine had cracked like an egg! They TIG welded it back together, good has new £180

This chap should be able to sort and only off Hambridge Lane.

A friend had seen some of his work on custom exhausts and also had his performance exhaust ( Direnza) re- aligned as was rubbish from new on his Focus ST and looked good.

Thanks Thrustyjust. I'll give those guys a call, as clearly they have done this type of work before.
