"Crack" noise when roof lock motor engages

I have a new noise! When I close the roof, there's a loud sort of "crack" noise as the motor in the windscreen area runs to lock the roof. Sounds like something isn't quite in alignment when the roof first shuts and the action of the locking mechanism pops it into place. It all functions ok, but the sound isn't very nice. Anyone heard this before and know what might need adjusting/checking?

Not heard of this. If you're in warranty take it to the dealer.

If you'd like more perspective please record a video and put it here via YouTube.

Have you opened/closed to try and track down if it's a central roof or left/right lock noise? As the actuator is a motor in the middle and two bars to a lock each side I'd start by locating the exact source of the sound.

Also, if it's one side or another I'd suggest looking for any signs of wear on the clamps / roof mounts on the top of the windscreen.

I just had to do it twice as it didn't make the noise the first time (typical)

Sounds like it's the passenger side windscreen clip- basically the roof drops into place, then about half way through the motor actuation there's a loud 'clack'. Tried recording it but it was just wind noise, I'll try again when it's calmed down outside!

I find these roofs have good and not so good days . Sometimes the opening / closing is quiet other times it's noisy and struggles .my experience has been lack of interest when I aporoach the dealer .

Just to follow up on this- I got them to look at it when it was in for an MOT recently. Apparently it just needed some grease!

Nope, the girl didn't say. I guess either in the hole the latch goes into or around the latch itself.
