Crack In My Pipe

... in the most literal sense!

My M is at TWG for some regular maintenance items but earlier I got unwelcome news that one side of my front pipe/cats has a crack pretty much down its entire length. Would really appreciate some advice as I've got a long Euro trip planned at the end of April and would like to have this sorted asap. Some of my Qs and considerations below...

- Firstly, does anyone have an oem or aftermarket front pipe (with cats) they'd be willing to sell me by any chance? :D
- Is there any benefit in going aftermarket, especially if the rest of the system will remain oem?
- Is welding a viable solution or is that too short term?
- I'm not planning to leave it as is, but what would be the worst case-scenario if I did? Is it just an emissions issue or will it affect engine performance in any way?

Thanks in advance guys! :driving:

Welding it is fastest and easiest solution, It may crack again at some point in the future but you should get many yrs out it first.

Sorry to read about your pipe. :(

Hopefully Will can sort it for you, but if you could use some help getting the exhaust taken somewhere else for welding PM me - I'm only a couple of miles from TWG.

Thanks, that was my thinking too though I wasn't sure it would last for all that long.

That's very kind of you, I really appreciate it! I'll speak to Will later today to see what the best option is.

If you have it welded it will need to be argon purged while it is welded or it will be rough inside

Simpson race exhausts are very good and the pipe once removed is small enough to send by parcel post
