Hi all. Contemplating buying a set of 19" 326s that have been welded and completely refurbished. My question is............once welded are they as good as new and how does it affect the sealing of the tyre? I know it depends on the quality of the weld and finish. Anyone got any experience of this :?

I’ll save you time money and stress. #avoid

If you want to change your wheels there’s a lot of good topics on here around after market rims that look great and won’t leave you stranded by the roadside.

I wouldn't bother getting any that have been welded. Seen so many recrack. You never know how good the job was in the first place.

There could be a completely valid reason for sale but I'd be dubious. Why go to the trouble of refurbing them only to sell them on? Im sure they'll have a 'genuine reason for sale'.

Where have you seen them for sale?

My 326 wheels cracked, I had them professionally welded & it failed the mot a year later on another crack :x
I’d avoid them after my experience!

They're for sale on the forum.

Pity but I think I'll have to avoid them then.

I would avoid those. He would be better off just selling the tyres in two pairs and putting the wheels on eBay.

Mismatching tyres and crack prone wheels is not going to tempt anyone to spend £1k.

Has anyone ever had after market wheels develop cracks - or is only the BMW supplied variety ?

Cheapo eBay sets made in China or ones claimed to be manufactured 'Italy' can of course crack or buckle. Spend more and get decent set and they'll last a very long time.

Should I get cracks in my 326 I will go down the decent aftermarket route .

I pass the BBS factory on my annual trip to the Black Forest are of Germany - I wonder if they have a factory shop? :D

If they do, pick up a bucket full of BBS 108 bolts, would make you a rich man as they seem hard to find.

Came here to ask this question. Seems like a unanimous and resounding “avoid”. So hard to find uncracked/unwelded 326s

That heading reminded me of the difference between a prostitute and a drug dealer - a prostitute can wash her crack and sell it again!
