Are we headed towards another bad time?
It seems the powers that be are warning of it, or are they just sabre rattling so the masses behave themselves this time around?

People were moaning last time because they were to slow to act ,they are now being more proactive where communities think it's all over, but it ain't :(

Seems to be local restrictions sprouting up each day now, I'm not surprised in the least, we had to pay the price somehow once the lockdown was relaxed and every man and his dog massed onto the beaches into the towns on a Saturday night as if it never happened.

I'm still working from home, no bloody way I'm sitting in an open plan office with no fresh air ventilation.

I do worry now of this Governments inability in many areas. New local restrictions are being announced some won't be coming into effect until Tuesday, why not now, so another few days for infections rates to go up.

Alot of the public are just confused now.

I expect hospitals to be overwhelmed by Christmas if the Gov't doesn't get a grip on this.

Already been said the outcome is potentially looking scary.

I’m willing to continue my hermit style of life.
The attraction of clubs, pubs and restaurants isn’t there at the moment.

My Consultant told me 3 weeks ago they’re having meetings every 3-5 days to prepare for this very scenario

Never mind Ron, yes maybe postpone hitting the clubs until after Christmas

Same old same old.....the initial furore over lockdown was eased to help people...people took it as it was all over, look at swamped beaches, towns with barely anybody wearing masks or doing as they’re told, huge gatherings of folk protesting because they’re rice pudding is too cold or too hot etc, etc....oh look there’s a spike again.... Too many people are simply fucking stupid and balls it up for everybody then point the blame finger at the government.....why is anybody surprised...

I know as a population we're more Covid aware compared to before March but I wonder if that's enough without another full lockdown which the Gov't have indicated they won't do and seems the reliance is on local restrictions instead. Seems to me if the local restrictions keep increasing then we'll have a full lockdown anyways

Tim.

The majority of the 40 and under generations and the thickos of all ages these days dont give s**t about anybody but themselves and these are the ones creating the new spike.. read a quote the other day that said "if this disease didnt affect the older generation but was killing the young you can guarantee the older generation would make whatever sacrifices they had to to protect them" sounds about right

Going to be a very long winter :(

On a really selfish note I don’t want any increases as I’ll be back to official shielding. In the same phone call she advised me very strongly to try to shield as much as possible because I’m in the highest fatality group. Male/over 50/auto immune disease/on immuno suppressants. She also advised I’ll not be back at work this year anyway which isn’t much of a problem as I’ve been working from home since 9/03

IMO Local restrictions aren’t working because people are travelling in and out if the higher infection areas therefore increasing the spread risk but do agree the Govt are going to try everything before another national lockdown

It has been obvious for some time that this was going to happen. We can’t blame the government for the unbelievably stupid behaviour of some of our citizens. But I am disappointed with the dreadful shambles surrounding testing. That has to be laid at their door. They have failed miserably to prepare for what was always going to happen when schools went back and students started their university courses. Even simple souls like me could have predicted there would be a huge increase in the need for additional testing. It is very very worrying to say the least. :o

Instead of pussyfooting about I don’t know why they don’t just close the watering holes - it seems to where the current outbreaks have started.

When the hot weather crowded beach thing and anti racism marches were on, a spike was predicted- it didn’t happen. Then the pubs etc opened and the eat out to help out started - the numbers rise. Maybe it’s only a coincidence?

Can someone clarify the rule of 6 to me?

So, it’s a max of 6 people.

But....can that be 1 person from 6 households or only say, 2 households?

If the number of households isn’t restricted, then isn’t that a bit silly?

Couldn’t find anything in the government website that mentioned the number of households that could mix.

In England it could be 6 people from 6 households

In Scotland it’s 6 people from a max of 2 households

Local restrictions override that and are more restrictive
