I always kept a stash of disposable gloves in the door pocket when I had diesels.

Years ago a mate was tubing some fuel out of a diesel and managed to splash some onto my jeans. Even after washing them several times I could still smell it - I don't miss my diesel cars!

Going a few posts back I'm sure I read somewhere that there were typically more germs on computer keyboards than most toilet seats.

Apparently one of the germiest things in your house is the dish cloth.

Guys! Stop faffing about! Go out there and catch it! It'll either build up your immunity or kill you. What's to lose. If it builds up your immunity you can stop worrying. If it kills you, you'll stop worrying. :wink:

So if everyone used disposable plastic gloves when putting fuel in their cars (like most of the girls on this thread! ), that would equate to around 15,000,000 pairs of plastic gloves being thrown away every week; just in the UK. Based on re-fuelling once a fortnight average.

A pair of gloves weigh around 2 grams. That is 30 tonnes of extra plastic every year just to stop your precious little pinkies getting a bit smelly!

No hope of saving the planet with that little past-time! :roll:

One thing that I do, though, is when I get a used car, I always thoroughly clean the steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake. They are usually minging!
