So I have a space saver wheel for long runs - thanks to forum help
It looks messy in the boot
After some R&D I have found that you can buy a cheap cover from www.bargainworlduk.com for around £15 - size small (25" diameter)
I have had some custom Z4 decals made for the cover
I also have a universal boot cargo net
photos to follow

Any pics Martin? Was going to PM you but thought others might like to see it.

Here is my space saver covered together with bag for 12v automatic lifting jack and torque wrench
I have wheel chocs and a 4 x 4 piece of wood in case the scissor jack fails (see other threads)
I also have hi viz jacket, gloves
A universal cargo net holds it all in place
Yes it has a weight but I travel a lot and it gives me some comfort
Driving locally, I usually remove it all

and yes I can still fit my laptop and travel bags :driving:

Thanks for the photos - looks a very neat solution. You sure are prepared for when disaster strikes and it's sods law it's at the worst time.

Need to do the same for mine now as I just have a lot of loose items sliding around. Do you have a link for the cargo net?

DaveG - ebay or amazon for universal cargo net, mine was 2ft 6" x 2ft 6"
I had to attach cable ties top left and right at the back to hook the cargo net onto as no handy anchor points available
Space saver is a 17" from a 3 series on ebay, paid about £80 delivered
There is a thread about space savers and use of a 16" space saver - these are more easily found and generally cheaper

How do you fix your cargo net in the boot?

I was thinking about sticking in some D-Rings on the rear face of the boot to use with some bungees as things tend to slide :) occasionally and it annoys the hell out of me.

All you've got on the back of the boot is the material liner which seems to be a PITA to remove to get a sturdy fix to anything.

Also not too happy about making holes in things when i dont know for sure what is behind!

To attach the cargo net I simply used interlocking black cable ties
I noticed a slit in the metal near a nut in the top left and right
I got a cable tie into each then daisy chained them together as shown below

I will tighten and trim excess cable ties to suit
