My cousin has called me a woman, gayboy and so on for driving a Z4. Probably been six months of abuse I think!

Like I care, love the car and love having the roof down!

So today he calls and tells me went and bought a TT coupe (225hp) a few days ago. It's done 70k I think.

Am I the only one who thinks that's more of a girls car? They look Very dated too......

Disclaimer: I am not gay or a woman. But if was either I would still drive the Z4........never the TT!

Can't say I'd call an S2000 an underpowered hairdressers car. The TT was (and still is) bought by many who want a fashion statement as much as a performance car. I would love a TTRS and you could call me a hairdresser all day long :)

I'm with you on the S2000 - whoever wrote that one has clearly never given a VTEC some wellie.....not sure I'd call the S2000 stylish though, it was that not-very-attractive wedge look (a la Austin Princess!) that stopped me buying one, otherwise the thing under the bonnet and Hondas reliability record would have clinched it for me.

The OPs story just proves that people who throw such insults are almost invariably seething with jealousy inside, and quite rightly! LOL

I agree on the TTRS. Brilliant car....

My gay friend loves my Z4. And theres nothing wrong with that.

I did have comments that my Z4 was more masculine than my old S2000. You can read into that both ways really :D

A mate has a TTS! Nice and drives well but doesn't compare with the 35i IMO. Sort of looks too ordinary and my 35i sounds better!

Haven't tried or seen the TTRS though. That does sound a nice car! 340PS and 4.6 sec to 62 and you can have the 155 limiter taken off on the TTRS only to give a top speed of 174MPH! And it's cheaper (just) new than the 35is (depends on the option list as some stuff that's standard on the Z4 isn't on the Audi!)

That white one looks nice!!

I suspect someone will say that baout almost any sports car, except maybe TVR and a few others.

I bought a TT because I wanted a semi-sensible car (hatchback) and didn't need back seats. Couldn't be doing with FWD tho, had to be Quattro.

I suspect the RS is good, but imo the TT's limiting factor is it's based on a VAG floorpan.

Oh, checked the glovebox, no slots of combs, brushes, hairdryers etc :D

Awesome link

Regarding the TT (or Audi Tit as i like to call them) I think that even the Coupe looks more girly/hairdressery/gay than the Z4 Roadster! The Z4 is one of the most 'manly' convertibles you can get in my opinion.

That depends if the females opinion matches your own! :P

Never understand the hairdresser remark these days i know back in the day they would always have open top 2 seaters but most now seem to drive 4x4s Range Rover or X5 etc

Whats your cousin got to say now have you given him some stick in return ?

Would far rather have the zed over a TT. But that's stating the obvious since I bought one. Huge majority of owners of cars like TT's etc have no idea about what might make their car good or bad. Ask them to really quantify why their car is better or worse than any other and they'll paraphrase what they heard on Top Gear last week - see the Top Gear review thread for how much sense Clarkson speaks. Never let facts or common sense get in the way of good TV.
As said above, funnily enough every sports car or convertible in existence is apparently "an hairdressers car" with the exception of a small handful (small marques that they've never heard of, of ones like Ferrari's that are footballer's cars instead)

Having had an S2000 i would say its more of a beast then my Z, certainly not girly... hit the vtec in mildly wet conditions and it will be a real animal to control!

I do quite like the new TT, nearly got one instead of the Z, after being taken for a spin in my friends new 2.0TFSI, which from the inside feels faster, however from first hand experiance i know for a fact it isnt!

That being said a few of my friends say i drive a posers car - its just jealosy!
