Does any one know what switches the light in the compartment between the seats on , changed Bulb and still not working .

There is a switch activated when opening/closing the flap. I seem to remember it's operated by the bottom hinges, although it could be part of the central locking motor at the top.

Nearly, they is a bit that sticks out roughly in the middle of the flap that makes contact with the switch.

Can't see that on mine, was looking the other day as the damn thing, and the lock on it has never worked.

Can't see anything on realoem though :(

Not sure from the diagram but where that release cable in the boot latches onto it. That's it. Found it a while ago dicking about with the grom unit. May be why yours doesn't work. If that cable doesn't release anything it's just plain busted.

Yes ....i see the bit at the bottom of the flap that activates the switch. What is the significance of the cable.

The cable releases the latch at the top.

If yours doesn't lock with the central locking, then it'll be part 18 that is knackered and mine went on my first Z4.

BTW the E86 doesn't have this locking mechanism.

The switch is in the middle of the main flap, you can’t see it on realoem. It does move along the groove of part 6 though which has the switch behind it.
