I'd bet that 116d wouldn't cost you more than £22k. it looks to have the M Sport + package added (xenons, big brakes and leather a dead give away) no nv or anything so probably a list of around £27k then you've got the almost obligatory 18-20% discount that BMW throw at these now.

If you were going to pay cash for an M135i demonstrator then fair enough, you;d probably be better going slightly used though and getting even more money off. The reasons being that both would be the AUC APR on finance so expensive. Financed, there are dealers that will do an M135i 5 door auto with nav and metallic paint for around £29k, you won't get better than that. The list on that will be about £35k. Harris told everyone to take a poverty spec one but i doubt anyone does, the auto box has almost become a compulsory option on them and financed a manual will actually cost more per month despite having a lower list.

As for the petrol 116i. The old one was hateful, an utter dog of an engine. The new one is the Cooper S engine and the same as the 118i with a different map and slightly more restrictive down pipe. Even at that it can be remapped to about 190 bhp so it's not bad.
 
We have the Z and a Mini Countryman a cooper petrol and have to say in lots of ways I enjoy driving the Mini as much as the Z, high position handels quite nice relaxing to drive plenty of room for a fridge, down side needs a bit more go and has a few rattles that need addressing maybe a Cooper S next time. :?
 
I've come round to the mini slightly after only 10 years. Quite like the idea of a cooper S. However, a friend recently bought a countryman cooper S diesel and it is not good.

Especially when it's a BMW, White and a 116. Seems all the fastest BMs on the road are white and badged as some lesser engine model as they always seem to be right on your bumper desperate to get by you and the cars infront. Clearly an issue at the factory they need to sort :roll:

My first car at 17 was a Chilli Red Cooper S. Loved it and still admire how good it looks when I see it driving about town. Ones I've tried since then have been a left down and to be honest interior wise has never felt as well built since 2004 onwards but that's what happens when they had small runs in the beginning an then Boom! They started rolling them off like nobody's business.

That could be most authentic bit of the bminiws as the originals were built dreadfully. They were rotten after 5 years really

It was really a great car, sold it to someone far away but it's made it way back to where I live. Just need to persuade the current owner to part with it. I'm willing to pay £1k over current value too. Not that they are worth too much now after 12 years

I know, however I sold it with 62.5k on the clock and 6 years old for 9k which was not to be sniffed at. I'll just have to buy it back eventually :driving:
