Couple of Questions/Issues?

Hi

So my wife has a 2.0L Z4, 2007 with 79k on the clock.

Had it two years and apart from the cam chain slipping a tooth due to a busted chain guide (£300), its really only wanted for wear and tear items like tyres and brakes etc.

Moving forward, she is going to be using the bigger car and I have been lumped with the Z4. I drove it today and noticed a few things which I wondered if anybody could tell me are normal:

1. The throttle seems to have a few mm of disconnect before it engages, this is in all gears. Like you are sitting at say 50mph in 4th and hit the gas, it feels like you need to push the pedal down a little before the engine actually reacts. I am used to having a really sharp throttle where the power is instant.

2. It tramlines all over the shop, you notice it far more on the motorway/freeway. Currently on NON runflats but I cannot just sit there and cruise, I seem to have to correct the steering even when the road bends just slightly. The tracking is slightly out but she said its always done it, we got its fully aligned for £80 last year and three days later the front went out again so we haven't bothered, the front tyres seem to be wearing normally.

3. The gear shifter (its a manual) seems to vibrate at idle, its not bad and doesn't cause the car the shake but the engine idle seems to vibrate quite a bit. We changed the plugs about 18 months ago but it did it from day 1 of ownership tbh.

I am currently deciding whether to sell it in al honesty, after 120 motorway miles my back feels like I need to see a chiropractor! Its a great little car but woefully underpowered in the modern age and seems to be better suited to a weekend car than a daily considering the driving position and impracticality of it.
