Couple of odd jobs

FYI if you add Baking powder to super glue, it will harden & bond 10x stronger.

Let’s just say they use this technique to mend chips in helicopter rotor blades, sanding down the excess...

Google it if you want to know more

Thanks I may need to resort to that next, first results of the unibond test aren't great... it held out well but I think I twisted it on and off once too many and it broke apart again. I'm giving it a second go with all the edges sanded down much flatter for better purchase.

thanatu55. What did you use to stick the half cut lens back onto the base?

Well I found the solution to reattaching the two pieces, it's a bit of a ball ache like but Q-bond is perfect for the job. It's a heavy duty glue and comes with two small bottles of powder to reinforce the bond. Use that then sand down to a neat finish and you can twist on and off 'til your hearts content

You can get it from Amazon here https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bond-Stron...ie=UTF8&qid=1535737505&sr=8-1&keywords=q-bond

Looks promising! How many times have you tested it? Lol

It's most definitely a permanent bond, I'd have to take the hacksaw to it again to open it back up!

It's a bit messy to use but I've used it before so am used to working with it. You just have to be careful with the bottle because if you use it like a normal glue you'll get it everywhere as it comes out quick, but take your time with it and there's nothing better.

indicator badges are on my mod list for a long time only need a better way to cut them by hand

Yeah I could have done with something better than a mini hacksaw! I'd think something like a dremmel used carefully would be the best option to get a straight edge all round?

this is also a good mod
