OK, I promised myself that once I got rid of the MR2 and got myself a proper car that I would forget my urges to mod. Sadly like all things I promise not to do, I've already failed

So, on the list so far

De-badge - already done the lot, 15 mins with the dental floss, nail varnish remover (scary I know but it works ok), wax and polish :) Looks much cleaner already.

Footwell lights needed (anyone done an E89?)

Have an Alpine HiFi upgrade unit in a box for a 1er (Amp, tweeters etc) so investigating what I can do with it in a Z4

No USB so need to think about a solution to that may be (Anyone done a retrofit?)

No Nav so need to sort a way of providing power to my Garmin without having wires hanging everywhere

Hope I get some free time soon. Parts arriving at the house from everywhere already :headbang:

No USB . really?

- not even in the glove box? - I though they all had this. (i'm guessing-not factual!). :|

- check the very upper right hand side of the glove box just incase.

Don't think so. Not listed on the spec sheet. The armrest has the Aux in and I checked in the glovebox where my X1 has one. Just a hole I think. Bear in mind this is an early E89 so guessing it wasn't standard. What made me wonder is that it has BT/Voice and Pro HU so from what I read, it probably has most of the guts required to have USB. Probably missing the wiring and the hub may be?

My first E89 (sdrive 23) was an early model (59 plate) and definitely didn't have USB ports, they didn't fit them as standard at that time, but were available as an option.

hi. im after two 3.0i badges, any chance you want to sell yours.

Not sure but I think the glove box USB is only there when you have the iDrive system. The armrest USB also is an option.

So here we go, a few bits sorted already. Nothing that exciting or challenging yet though :D

Nice clean wings with no badges

Nice clean boot with no badges either

Fitted luggage looks nice, not seen that for a while on here. I like the really thin bag, not sure what will go in there?

The problem with those shelves is that smaller items will just roll off them down the side - why didn't they make them the full width :idunno:

You might be able to use the mount kit for BMW's semi-integrated nav.

Alternatively, you could get the entire semi-integrated kit from BMW. It isn't too expensive.

My phone, laptop, chargers, blackberry, iPad etc etc etc :)

Asked the bloke if they would consider doing discount for club members or a group buy just in case anyone else was interested.

They have a hollowed out surface so they form a tray and they have a friction rubber base to stop stuff moving around so hoping they have some use.

Given that my iPhone goes in the armrest and I would prefer to have my drinks holders just in case, I may rewire the Aux In and rear ciggy into that box so my iPod can sit in there on charge whenever I'm driving :)

While I'm at it, I might put a multiple power outlet in there too to charge my blackberry and cameras :D
