Couple of issues

Good Morning all,

My z4 has recently developed a couple of issues I need a couple of ideas on:

1. When on unsmooth surfaces there is a small vibration in the steering from the front end, if I brake at the same time this vibration increases and can be felt through the whole car. The front end feels more crashy than normal and my gut is its N/S/F. In addition when steering left and right quickly it feels as if there is a delay when turning right. I feel it could be a track rod?

2. The windscreen wipers occasionally don't stop in the normal position and finish a bit higher. When requesting 1 wipe, it will normally do 1 but occasionally do 2, 3,4 up to about 10 on occasion. any ideas on the cause?

Thanks for any help!

In relation to point 2, my wipers failed to 'park' in the correct place. Seems to be a common issue with a simple fix. Was for me anyway....

Yup mine did exactly this a few years back simple fix.

Get the brakes checked and as always get the suspension checked then an alignment.

The front bushes are probably knackered. Track rods will be siezed solid too.

I think you have taken on the mantle of politest Z driver!
How many of us 'request' our wipers to operate?
Good to know manners still exist. :D

Mine did this too, but it wasn't grease in the motor; it was the relay behind the fuseboard going bad. Simply swapped it with the same relay for the front fogs and it solved the issue instantly.
