Coupe Vs Roadster Rear Shocks

Evening All

As I have to replace my rear shock bump stops I've ordered a Meylee HD top mount and bump stop kit. I figure I may as well replace the rear shocks which have done 80K now.

Trouble is I can't see to find confirmation as to whether the shocks for the coupe are the same as the roadster? Real OEM gives part number 33506777029 for the coupe (M Sport), but for the roadster it gives part number 33526785997. Loads of Sachs and/ or Bilstein shocks on ebay but generally the list the roadster but not the Coupe.

Any Coupe Owners know the Bilstein B4 part number or Sachs part number?

probably not a lot of help, but i struggled like mad to find the OEM Sach shocks when i was replacing my rears (2008 2.0i E85 with M sport set up) so ended up using Bilstein B4s which were £55 each and have been fine. (cant remember the site but search my old posts as another forum member nearly paid £75 each before finding my cheaper link)

Part Number: BIL19-158983 (but double check as these are for my 2.0i so not sure if the bigger heavier E86 will be the same or not)

Yes it is somewhat of a minefield to be honest. Soper can order the OEM shocks in but at £160 each it seems far too expensive.

The annoying thing is that pretty much every website (Bilstein included) state that the shocks are for standard chassis only. Well my Coupe is an M Sport so straight away it casts some doubt.

is a great deal but again it states for vehicles with standard chassis...
 
yea i looked for ages and there isn't much info out there. Sach m sport rear shocks seemed so hard to find for a sensible price (no way i would pay BMW £320 for the pair) so spoke to a few people on here and B4s seems a straight swap, had them on car for bout 8-10 months now and its all good :D
 
Thanks I will look into the cheapest option. BMF autoparts thinks my car is a Mitsubishi colt 1.1 based on my number plate... lol will try the manual selection method.

thats not good lol, mine has a Northern Ireland plate and works fine. enter manually and then research the parts it offers up 1st :thumbsup:

Yeah I thought about it but I don't really want to lower the car (and I believe such a kit would lower it?) Also I don't really have the cash at the moment so £120 for a pair of rear B4's is more palletable!
 
Just looked on their catalogue -19-158983 is the right part for a 3.0si coupe.

I think you'll end up getting something better in the end though, so why not wait? Bump stops can't be that important. Buy once, cry once ;)
