Coupe tyre sizes/costs

New member collecting information on what it'll cost to run and maintain a Z4 coupe :)

Regarding alloys/tyres, I've collected the following (prices based on BRIDGESTONE RE050A1 RUNFLAT quoted from tyre shopper website);

Model: Z4 3.0si SE Coupe
Wheel: Light Alloy Style 200 (17")
Front: 8Jx17, 225/45, £128.90
Rear: 8Jx17, 225/45, £128.90

Model: Z4 3.0si Sport Coupe (18")
Wheel: Light Alloy Style 135M
Front: 8Jx18, 225/40 £172.70
Rear: 8.5Jx18, 255/35, £248.80

Some sellers have 19" BMW alloys, but that wasn't an original upgrade from what I can tell. Does anyone know what tyres you'd need for 19" alloys on a Z4 coupe? Couple of example photos from sellers claiming to have 19 alloys - can't quite make out the writing on the tyres though.

To keep the same overall dimensions as the staggered 18" set up you'd need:

Don't know how common those sizes are though, and they won't be cheap - and even more expensive if you stick with runflats (e.g. some on here have replaced 4 runflats with 4 Falkens for half the price).

Non-runflat Falken FK452/FK453s in the same sizes can be had for about £120/£140 front/rear respectively.
 
^^^^ What Mmmmfive said!! Falkens or Vredestein are favoured here over the run flats which give an awful ride and cost an arm and a leg!
 
the first pic consists of 18'' 108 alloy wheels.

also, i'd go for non runflats. i have goodyear eagle f1's on the front (which are amazing) and vredestein ultrac sessanta's on the rear (255's, also fantastic) and they are a hell of a lot cheaper than runflats.
 
Hi, got 19s on mine with non-runflats. 235/35 front. 265/30 rear. Sessanta ultra front. Hankook ventus V12 evo rear. No idea if they are rated but it sticks like glue.
Also work in all weather.
Looking to go with Pirelli P Zero Nero next year but not sure if any good.
Looks around £800 to £900 fitted to do all 4.

Not a fan of Pirelli on BMWs - although only ever tried the original P-Zero and P-Zero Rosso on my e34 M5.

I'd go for Continental SportContact 5, Michelin Pilot Supersport/PS2 or Goodyear F1A 2 - assuming they're available in the sizes you want/need.

Which is why we've quoted a 225/35r19 for the front and 255/30r19 for the rear.

If it was for an ///M, then we'd have suggested a 225/40r19 and 255/35r19 (or 235/40r19 & 265/35/r19) :poke:
