Coupe Side Light Bulb Fitment

On my drive home today the light bulb indicator illuminated on my dashboard. Once I got back I checked all the lights and they were working fine, but the driver side headlight had the orange indicator permanently lit as seen in the photo. Quick look around this forum indicated it was the side light that was the bulb that was out, the lights I didn't check as I never use them!

My car is a Coupe with Xenon's fitted. Can anyone advise what fitment/size/wattage I need to replace the side bulb that has gone? Prefer to use the standard bulb, but could go for LED's (though I would have to switch both sides...) if no one knows the standard bulb fitment.

Thank you in advance

Yes mate you need to get the bulb from bmw as it has a special housing, may be available elsewhere but I'm not aware of it, it is a 12V BA9S T4W
(Angel eye bulb) and is about £30.
Some people have managed to drill and remove the bulb from the housing and put something else there, I think there are guides on here.

It is so easy to do it without replacing the unit. The unit is a pain, screwed in with torque bolts but once out - the bulb can be really really easily removed from the holder. Literally trace where the pin from the bulb glides up the track, where it meets the formed stop. Just heat a screw driver or anything small, melt about 1mm of the plastic holder and out comes the bulb. I'm on my phone so it is a hassle to find the right thread, but have a search and there are a couple of very useful ones on here - even with the bulb number which I got off amazon.
