coupe semi auto box

I had found a coupe that I liked but its now sold. but looking around ive seen another that has the semi auto box fitted. I know that the smg on the m3 can be problematic but how is the one fitted to the z4 coupe? is it problematic like the smg on the m3 or is it better?.
 
Hi - the paddles on the coupe are for the auto box. It's not SMG unfortunately. They only did SMG on the pre facelift roadster models I think

cool cool. so they have no problems with the box then? so are the paddles just a gimick then.
 
It's steptronic - so a torque converter auto box with optional manual control over when it shifts, controllable by the gear lever or flappy paddles
