I have been informed by BMW that the roof seals for the Coupe have been discontinued and that there is no stock available anywhere . The numbers are

51763421369
51763421370

I have also tried LLL Parts and they have told me the same .

I have looked on car builders solutions site and also ebay and the closest match I can find size wise is these so may give them a go https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355541521523 .or I will just use some extra sealant .

This is what they look like if anyone knows of something similar I would appreciate it .

Does this mean that we will all eventually have to convert our tin tops to roadsters :poke:

Hi Darich,

Yes tried my local Syntners and they told me the same thing even though they are available to order on the site . Discontinued and no stock available in any of their branches or in Germany . Also tried Sopers .

I guess I better hope mine don't need replaced!

Good luck in your search

I will post back here if the eBay seals do the job

Cool...thanks
In the meantime I'm looking for a seal to stop my boot leak!! Losing the will to live!!!

Very frustrating . I`ve just replied to that post about the boot leak just in case you were going to use normal silicon sealant .

Hi 1536Z4, sorry to hear those seals are no longer available - I replaced one a while back, and now I hope the other one doesn't perish like the first. The seal I replaced was damaged only on the lower portion, by a previous owner. I considered using a roadster seal and patching it in at the belt line. Is yours failing to seal at the window ?

The upper rear corner and the junction between B-pillar and beltling will be the tricky parts if doing a custom fit. Do you think it's possible you might find a coupe being parted out with seals in good condition ?

I took the roof off to fit a carbon one and the seals were not brilliant so thought whilst I`m here change the seals . No point in me putting back the old ones . Not sure if you are talking about the same rubber seal ? This seal goes under and down the side of the roof between the windscreen and tailgate glass . I was thinking about trying a breakers but unless they have been replaced they are all going to be in much the same condition . The eBay seals are due to be delivered today so will see what they are like for fitment .

Ebay seals don`t fit which I`m not surprised about but worth a try . I have just Tiger sealed the roof down and will go round the edge of the roof with sealant when roof has cured .

The ebay trims to deep / fat?

Should have taken a photo :headbang: They are made so that they go around the edge of the roof and then go over the bit below the valley between the roof and the top of the car where the original stops in the valley . If that makes sense . Hard to explain but they didn`t fit well over the roof as the gap between the rubber is a little too small and then the rest of the seal doesn`t match up with the flow of the windscreen seal .

1536Z4 - Sorry I got off-track on which seal. You had the correct part numbers, but when I checked in RealOEM it took me to the same diagram I was familiar with . . . and I 'followed my nose', without checking that I had the wrong part. Good to see you're working it out - it'll be good reference for others.

Easily done with those diagrams  I nearly ended up ordering the wrong seal for the windscreen when I replaced that .

Is this another part on the Coupe that I need to add to the 'watch it' list. ?

'watch it

You will probably not have a problem with them it`s just because I took the roof off and decided to change them at the same time . They may well have lasted for years without issue but they were a bit tatty so I decided to replace them before finding out they were discontinued . I`m going to mask the roof line off and use some Geocel marine silicon rubber .
