Coupe Replacement Windscreen

I think I'm going to have my screen replaced, I had a rock/stone hit and put 3 chips in a row.

What I would like to know is, are there any issues with a replacement screen? I have rain sensor etc.

The windscreen is very sloped and curved so I'm nervous about fitment.

Should I request bmw seals etc?

Buy the seal yourself from BMW and save the hassle of them bringing replacement ones that ripple in the corners

Mine was done this morning (Autoglass for LV). Took about 2 hours and he was very careful removing & reinstalling all the trim (rubbers, wipers, scuttle panel, etc.).

Didn't expect it to be a BMW screen, as my last one wasn't, but it was the same Pilkington screen I had in a few years back with the green band and area for rain sensor.

Only downside is LV charge £190 for a Z4MC screen. They have different prices for different screens, from £70-£450. My old insurer was £70.

Thanks for the replys, my renewal is next week so I'll wait until after this before claiming.

Waiting should be OK if you renew with the same insurer, but if you change insurer the new one wouldn't want to be picking up the cost of repairing damage that happened before their policy began! Just a heads-up. :wink:
