How do you remove the back carpeted panel? I need to access the cd changer and can't for the life of me Suss it out
I don't want to start tugging at things as I usually end up snapping some delicate plastic clip or such thing

I don't think you access it from the boot, there is a steel bulkhead there (based on the Roadster).

You will need to rem trim from the cockpit side...

You can get access, but only to the wiring, I don't think you'd be able to remove it from the boot. there are some plastic pins holding the carpet in place above the battery and below the window plastic on the drivers side, with similar on the passenger.

As stated there is no access from the boot. This will help you:

Thanks for the help, I don't want to remove the CD stacker just unplug it to plug a Denison ice link into the cable
Can I access it from behind the divider panel? I can see one plastic plug holding the carpet down but can't find how to remove the panel at the top where the roller cover sits

The above link is useful, I referred to that when fitting my Intravee and so needed to find the CD changer cables. You don't need to remove any of the carpeted side panels, in fact I didn't even fully remove the panel at the back as I just released it from the two clips top right (above the box that houses the battery) and pulled it out of the top trip and there was enough room to do what I needed to do.

So if memory serves me correctly:
1. Take away the bottom carpet panel closest to the exit of the boot.
2. Take away the carpeted box that houses the battery.
3. Carefully pull out the clip on the floor that holds the other half of the floor carpet (mine just had the one).
4. Undo two clips (one pulls out, the other screws out IIRC) top right of the rear bulkhead carpet, above where the carpeted box lives.
5. Pull down the bulkhead carpet from the top right, and that about all you need to do!

If you were around north London I'd say come over and I'd lend you a hand as these things are so easy if you've done it once before!

These pics might help?

This shows how much of the carpets you need to remove/release:

This shows the small hole where you need to pull your wires from:

Cheers guys, that's helped a lot, panel now removed and I can see the two plugs on the back of the stacker
Lost the back off the screw in plug, it can't be far but I can't find it
Just found this link http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166179

Whilst I'm back there how would I know if the wires are there for the sub amp, brackets and retaining strap is fitted but no sign of a loose plug
