The coupe all-day long, I don't like the image of the roadster :D

yeh its a real bitch for us roadster owners, having to be cool, suave and sophisticated all the time, not to mention fighting off all the women who want the wind in their hair.... :P

Which is why it's illegal to drive one without wearing sunglasses 8) , or use those indy flashy light things (whatever they are), as with all BMWs.

Got to be the coupe.. although I am going to say that as thats what I just bought

The way I see it the coupe looks WAY better than the roadster with the roof up and considering in this country you will probs only have the roof down 1% of the time the coupe is the obvious choice!! Add in the fact of the exclusivity with the coupe (circa 3k in the uk compared to 180k odd roadsters) and it was a no brainer

Thought it was us southerners who were softies :poke:

10c here, sunny, good enough for roof down :D

Soft tops have never been my thing and I will never own one. However, there are some cars, and the Z4 is one of them as a roadster, that have that undeniable appeal.

i think the coupe looks more like an mgb gt than a capri

the votes would suggest most owners like what they have i.e. coupe owners like the coupes and roadster oweners prefer the roaddsters, makes sense

Z4 Coupe's roofline slopes continuously down at the back. Strictly speadking, It should be called "2-door fastback".
Well, technically you could also call the Coupe a 3-door hatchback.... :poke:

Capri's are immense! My dad owned Crapi's (intentional spelling) throughout my teenage years, what a bloody laugh. Technically crap cars, but entertaining. My first crash (as a passenger) was in a mate's 2.8 injection Crapi, no great loss of a f**ked car IMO.

I think you're right...

Hatchback is a term designating an automobile design, containing a passenger cabin with an integrated cargo space, accessed from behind the vehicle by a single, top-hinged tailgate or large flip-up window. The vehicle commonly has two rows of seats, with the rear seat able to fold down to increase cargo space.

Mods: requesting thread title change to "Hatchback or Roadster"

:fuelfire:

Should it not be 'hatchback' or 'cabriolet'?

Anyway, that 'definition' of hatchback says two rows of seats with the rear seats being foldable - I know my rear seats are not even installable, never mind foldable.

A 'coupe' is only defined as having 2 doors, 4 seats and a sloping back. A 'drophead coupe' has 2 doors, 4 seats, a sloping back, and a folding roof.

Coupe all the way baby!

Just think about it - coupe owners get far more metal for their money :fuelfire:

Wow, its got a canny resemblance :) Especially the arch of the boot and the rear wheel arch

What a shame BMW have spoiled this discussion for owners of the new Z4 by making it a roadster/coupe. :)

The Coupe reminds me of an early TVR Griffith as does the pre facelift Roadster back end

Thankfully without the Ford Cortina rear lights and the propensity to swap ends with little provocation  Classic car, bit of a beast, like it's later namesake.

BMW did not make coupe version because roadster looks better. :D

easy! Coupe, park a coupe and a roadster side by side and everyone well be looking at the coupe.
as they would have all seen a roadster parked outside there nearest hair salon :poke:

the keyword there is "commonly" meaning not always! :poke:
