I personally think the coupe looks nice compared with the roadster with the top up, but how about when it's down?

The coupe looks fantastic all around but I have to hand it to the roadster for looking incredibly handsome with the top down. It just looks sleeker IMO. I'm a roadster owner btw.

I think the coupe looks better, but there is something to be said for being able to take the roof down and drive. So given the choice I'd own the Roadster (and I do).

(and I have a hardtop too :p)

One is a coupe and one is a roadster. Apples and pears.

The question is, if I was buying a coupe would I have bought a Z4? I was buying a roadster so looked at all the usual suspects that were in my price bracket and decided on the Z4. I bought my first Z4 for it's looks, straight six engine, interior, and badge. The second I bought for the power!

A coupe would have meant a choice between 350Z, Cayman or older 911. Maybe a 3 series or TT. Out of those choices I would have jumped at the Z4 again because it is a very good looking car either as a roadster or as a sardine can :)

.

The Coupe is a great looking car exept i think the rear end on a pre facelift Roadster is better looking and i think the Roadsters look really nice top up shame the soft top is not little flatter on top then it would look perfect.

When i bought my Z nearly 2 years ago if the Coupe had been in my price range i may well have gone for one coming from a coupe style car and being a little nervous about driving a soft top but since owning the Roadster i love it long drives in the country top down on a warm day are superb and as my mate a long time open top driver said theres no going back once you have driven a roadster.

I like the coupe a lot- its great but nothing beats putting the top down and then I think it doesnt stand a chance against the roadster. I think its one of those things where the car was designed to be a roadster hence it looks great and then they decided to add hardtop and its still very impressive. If i could I would have both. i dont think any other coupes(tt/350/370z/gayman) stands a chance against the Z4. same goes with roadsters for the looks- there is none better.

Just think about it:

- The roadster is more expensive
- The coupe was an after thought

Enough said :poke:

The coupe all-day long, I don't like the image of the roadster :D

yeh its a real bitch for us roadster owners, having to be cool, suave and sophisticated all the time, not to mention fighting off all the women who want the wind in their hair.... :P

Z4 Coupe's roofline slopes continuously down at the back. Strictly speadking, It should be called "2-door fastback".

Z4 Roadster has a proper boot lid, and the silver roll bars make it even more attractive when the roof is down. :)

The only thing I choose Coupe over Roadster is fixed roof. But now new Z4 has RHT, roadster wins.

Yes. Chrysler Crossfire, old VW Scirocco are also 2-door fastback. Personally, I think coupe is better looking than fastback.

Jeremey Clarkson said Crossfire looks like a dog taking a poo when he drove the car in TopGear. It is quite true when you look at the back quarter of most fastback-styled cars.

was looking at acoupe originally but having had quite a few different soft tops went with the roadster, dont regret it at all sounds glorious with the hood down. have to say though if i won the lottery i would also buy the coupe

i wanted a coupe but unfortunately they were out of my budget, IMO they are much better looking than the roadster.

being my first convertible, it is a novelty being able to put the roof down but thats not drawn me away from the Coupe, i still hope to upgrade at a later date.

Coupe is for 'go',

Roadster's for 'show' :P

:poke:

Roadster is for hairdressers and 'men of more mature years' - err, oh, i've had 2 roadsters... didn't think that one through... :headbang:

So at the moment, 20% of Roadster owners think the Coupé looks better and only 10% of Coupé owners think the Roadster looks better.

Except you don't have to slide across the bonnet to get in the Z4 Coupe.

Anyway, I think you'll find it's spelt Crapi. :)
