Hi all,

Yet another winter tyre thread. I apologise if this has already been covered somewhere but as I understand it 17 inch wheels on the none M couple would fit but does anyone has any pictures?

Just trying to weigh up whether to opt for 18's or 17's for the winter tyres :-s

Cheers

I've got my winter 17s on my Coupe at the moment, the wheels look lost in the arches but for winter it doesn't really matter.

These are the wheels I have, Style 201

I'd just go for what ever option is the cheapest, my winter wheels cost me nothing and I'm quite happy to look a bit rough if it means i can keep my 19's out of the salt.

I don't think that looks bad at all. looks pretty good in fact. cheers for pic. still need a coupe pic though

The Zed in this advert has 17's.

just look on trader / pistonheads. Quite a few came with 17's.

I've been working all hours Andy, don't get much time to myself at the moment.

How's the TT V6 doing?

I still haven't got round to putting the black 224's on.

No good chasing your tail mate , or is it for the "M " quest ?

I use the 18" staggered setup for the summer,

but I still think that stock 200s look fair enough for the winter

I'm not clever enough to post link but if you search the National Meet 2011 on page 13 is a pic of my Red Coupe on 17's

It's a SE. Not sure if 17's fit over the Sports brakes?

17s fit over Sports brakes - though with very little clearance. I have 17" Daisy's (can never remember if they are 103 or 104s) that I am about to put on for their 3rd winter

They are starting to look really sh1te though - needed a refurb when I got them, 2 winters have taken a big toll

Those staggered 18s really suit, they remind me of the multi spokes they put on the last of the Z3s, was always a fan

(Slight thread hijack)

After reading this thread i realised i had totally forgotten that I have a set of these 17 inch 200's with RFT's in my garage. Would the OP or anyone be interested in them for winter wheels etc? I have no idea what they are worth? This isnt actually a for sale post because I dont have a clue what price I should be asking for them...

For winters, 17s are surely a better proposition as you have a deeper sidewall so if you have any sort of slowmo "incident" that involves a pothole, kerb etc, you have a better chance of avoiding a stuffed tyre and rim.
