Hi I drive a 2008 si coupe just done the angel eyes in her but now from time to time I'm driving along and the halogen headlights beam is about 5 foot in front of me and won't adjust up or down with the adjuster on the dash then in the morning there fine again and workin perfect. On start up they make a faint noise but do nothing. when doing the lights it was left outside in the rain all night while the headlights silicone cured just wondering if water maybe got into the connections and that's the problem or did I break something when splitting the headlights just weird it's intermittent it's done it twice in last two weeks any info would be great thanks

Both lights?

The level motor can get sticky if they get condensation in them.

Next time it does it, gently tap the headlight to see if the motors jump into life.

Went out this morning and they are workin again first the drivers side goes up and down switch it off and on a few times and the passenger side jumps into life. Just wondered if there was any leveling sensors for headlights just in case one is on the way out ? thanks for your reply

There are no sensors for levelling like the xenons have. All you have is a manual adjuster switch and stepper motors inside the headlight. The cycling just resets it to the correct level based upon the manual switch setting

Since it appears to be passenger side only that's not working, I'd point to the stepper motor being faulty., specially as you've been working on the lights.

I have a spare stepper motor in my toolbox for a Z4 if you get stuck ..

Will have to check part number as I honk xenon and halogen are different

Hi it's both headlights that do it then it starts workin again but when it does it the drivers side starts to work again first followed by the passenger side

One of mine gets stuck down sometimes. I re-opened the headlamp and found a small screw which holds the projector in place had come loose. It did it again soon after, but now it's fixed itself.
