Hullo all,

After managing to sell my EVO VIII MR FQ300 2 weeks ago i finally managed to get my hands on a nice Coupe yesterday. Got the train down from Glasgow to Birmingham to buy it privately from a top bloke called Simon.

It's a 3.0 si Sport in Ruby Black with the Coral Red Dakota leather. It has the comfort pack, privacy glass, bluetooth and cruise control. I was pleased when I picked up a Belkin connector lead in the Apple store today and the old iPod worked a treat with the Aux port.

I'll get some pictures up when I've had a chance to give the car a really good clean and polish - hopefully on Saturday if the weather is okay - it's been pouring down in Glasgow today though and the forecast for the rest of the week looks pretty grim. I can't stop looking at the car - I love the shape of it - it's just such a classic sports car design - I'll be deliberately looking for mirrored buildings to cruise by at this rate :D

After doing the long (4.5 hours) drive up from Birmingham to Glasgow and having driven the car to work and back today I'm really enjoying it - it's exactly how I expected/hoped it would be - looking forward to getting out and about on some decent drives on the twisties. My only slight gripe is the gear-change - it's not the best feature of the car it's fair to say.

One bad experience so far with the car so far - I pulled up at the lights beside a black M Coupe tonight - caught the guys eye and gave him a wave only for him to blank me - guess he thought my car was below him or he just isn't into the whole friendly wave thing I've done the wave thing with my last three cars - EVO, s2000, Civic Type-R - and most folk reciprocate but you do get the occasional grump that doesn't - not to worry.

Lastly I'm looking for some advice - this is my first BMW and I suspect it may be faulty as my indicators seem to be working perfectly - should I take it to my local dealer to get it looked at? :P

Cheers,
Billy

Welcome matey.
And no sh!t but one of my front indicators died tonight....i can hear the jokes already. :poke:

Car sounds very nice, i also love the shape of the Coupe. Looking forward to the pictures :)

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a nice car. Some people are just a-hole. I was given the finger by a Z4 roadster guy in Toronto who had managed to pull up to me after I had slowed down a bit while traveling to Iowa. What's up with that? :(

Welcome to a fellow coupe driver!

Every marque suffers from it's share of @ssh@#$. You seem to have found one already.

Oh, and PICS PLEASE! :)

About fecking time mate!!!

Grant (Gibson) was telling me you managed to move on your Evo, so I waiting for you to appear on here again. Good to hear you were still after a Z4C and managed to get one in the end :)

Bring on the pics...

Welcome - sounds a nice Zed.

I'm afraid the Zed has to pass to older cult status before you can expect a wave back from every encounter. I've given up around B'ham and get more people from other marques waving and of course the odd finger.

It can take up to 2 years to completely remove the desire to indicate, but like smoking, very easy to lapse back into the habit :)

You finally managed it then
The coupe is just such a beautiful car, definetly a cult car of the future, but for the moment there's too many boring folk driving them who couldn't give a damn about fellow drivers :fuelfire:

Indicators have a different role in a BMW, they to show other drivers what they should or shouldn't be doing (ie. not driving in our lane  ) Occasionaly that includes warning others that they may be on/crossing your intended path and that they need to take avoiding action, which can look like standard use of the indicators but there's a subtle difference
